The Whipping Post Take on Santa Barbara Independent
SAN MARCOS HIGH EMBRACES WOKE HYSTERIA, NAACP SEES BLACKFACE GHOSTS
Santa Barbara's perpetually aggrieved activists have found a new mountain to make out of a molehill, proving once again that some folks specialize in outrage theater more than actual solutions.

The DispatchIt seems the Santa Barbara Independent has once again mistaken a tempest in a teapot for a raging hurricane, breathlessly reporting on the latest 'racial incident' to plague our hallowed halls of learning. This time, the drama unfolds at San Marcos High, where an alleged 'blackface incident' has sent the local chapter of the NAACP into a paroxysm of condemnation, apparently believing that the mere sight of ill-advised teen antics constitutes 'racial violence.' One wonders if they've ever actually encountered *violence*, or if their definition now includes anything less than perfect ideological conformity.
Indeed, the perennial wringing of hands by school and district officials over every perceived slight has become a tiresome ritual. Instead of teaching resilience or critical thinking, our educational institutions have apparently become breeding grounds for performative victimhood and bureaucratic self-flagellation. While actual issues like declining academic standards, ballooning administrative bloat, and the skyrocketing cost of education go largely unaddressed, we're treated to yet another spectacle of adults overreacting to teenagers being, well, teenagers.
What the Independent and the perpetually indignant seem to miss is the real story here: the utter failure of left-leaning educational philosophies to instill common sense or perspective. If every youthful blunder is immediately elevated to a national crisis requiring solemn pronouncements and 'equity' workshops, what exactly are we teaching our kids? Perhaps the 'invisible scars' are less about past injustice and more about the suffocating culture of hypersensitivity that ensures no one can ever make a mistake without being branded a villain. Maybe, just maybe, some things don't need a 20-page diversity report or an apology tour; they just need a principal to say, 'Don't do that again.'
But that, of course, would be too simple, too reasonable, and far too conservative for the perpetually outraged class. They'd rather keep everyone on edge, perpetually searching for systemic oppression in every shadow, ensuring their continued relevance in a world they insist is irredeemably flawed. Meanwhile, real education suffers, and real problems are ignored, all while the performance continues.
