This week, their ‘Administrative Item – Agenda Ready’ shows they’re set to greenlight a cool $200,000 for St. Vincent’s Institution’s ‘Family Strengthening Program Roof Replacement Project.’ Because nothing says 'family strengthening' quite like a freshly subsidized roof, apparently.

But let’s read between the lines, shall we? The CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) is just another federal funnel, laundered through the county, ostensibly for 'low-income' areas. What really gets our goat at The Whipping Post is how these vague ‘funding mechanisms’ sidestep any real scrutiny.
