While the Independent breathlessly reports on which progressive group is backing which progressive ideologue, The Whipping Post is asking the real questions: Who's bankrolling these campaigns, and what lucrative contracts or development favors are being quietly whispered in back rooms? Follow the money, folks, not the meaningless endorsements from groups whose primary goal is expanding government and diminishing individual liberty. Every 'candidate forum' is just another opportunity for these political aspirants to out-woke each other, promising more 'affordable housing' (read: taxpayer-funded boondoggles) and 'climate action' (read: crippling regulations on small businesses), all while conveniently ignoring the real issues that plague our community, like rampant crime and a city budget that's more wishful thinking than responsible planning.

The truth is, these so-called races are rarely about true leadership or fiscal responsibility; they're about maintaining the progressive machine that keeps a select few in power and the rest of us footing the bill. While the D.C. swamp is finally being drained under President Trump's wise leadership, our local swamp just keeps getting deeper, fertilized by the very people the Independent tells you to support.
