MATH SUPER BOWL: TEACHING KIDS BUREAUCRATIC INEFFICENCIES BEFORE THEY CAN VOTE!

It warms the heart, doesn't it? Our local youths, bless their little progressive hearts, are apparently 'crunching numbers' at the 41st Annual Math Super Bowl. One can only imagine the thrill of algebraic equations when compared to the sheer excitement of discovering that the answer you arrived at is technically correct but doesn't align with the 'equity framework' for mathematical outcomes set by the district. We hear Washington Elementary took top honors, because clearly, some schools are more 'equitable' in their number-crunching than others. Maybe they just had more calculators with the right pronoun settings.
Indeed, edhat informs us this was a 'fierce academic competition.' We assume 'fierce' now translates to 'mildly engaged while simultaneously live-streaming TikTok.' One can only hope that these nascent number-crunchers were also judged on their ability to explain how every single digit contributed to a more inclusive, diverse, and sustainable numerical landscape. Because, let's be honest, merely getting the right answer is so last century. What matters is the journey, and whether that journey was sufficiently intersectional.
Perhaps next year, instead of just solving equations, they could be tasked with optimizing the supply chain for reusable water bottles in the school district, or calculating the carbon footprint of their snack break. You know, practical, real-world problems that prepare them for a lifetime of navigating bureaucratic red tape and virtue signaling. Because what's the point of math if you can't use it to feel morally superior?
The real win here isn't who solved the most problems, but who managed to not offend anyone with their 'problem-solving methods.' We look forward to the day when the Math Super Bowl includes a category for 'Most Innovative Application of Critical Race Theory to Geometry.' That's when we'll know our mathletes are truly ready for the modern world.
