LUSD 'UPGRADES': MORE DEBT, FEWER BRAINS, SAME LIBERAL INDOCTRINATION

The Lompoc Record, bless its heart, recently trotted out another glowing account of Lompoc Unified School District's Measure M bond projects, as if spending untold millions of taxpayer dollars on 'roofing, windows, and asbestos abatement' is some kind of pedagogical triumph. One might almost think that school districts are *supposed* to maintain their buildings without constantly fleecing the public for more bond measures every few years, but hey, that’s just common sense, which seems to have gone out of style faster than disco. Our bet is the next bond will be for ‘state-of-the-art’ gender-neutral bathrooms, because that’s clearly what improves student outcomes.

While the district pats itself on the back for replacing a few leaky roofs – a basic maintenance item, not a visionary educational initiative – perhaps they could also consider upgrading the curriculum. We’re talking about actual academic rigor, not just new flooring to cushion the fall of students who can’t grasp basic arithmetic. The LUSD board, like so many progressive-dominated institutions, seems to prioritize everything *but* the foundational skills that prepare kids for a productive life in President Trump’s thriving economy. It's almost as if the goal isn't to educate, but to expand the bureaucracy and keep the tax dollars flowing.

What the Record conveniently overlooked, of course, is the real 'upgrade' taxpayers are being asked to fund: an ever-expanding administrative bloat and a steady stream of progressive programming disguised as 'modern education.' One can only imagine the 'equity and inclusion' seminars being held in those newly air-conditioned classrooms. Meanwhile, actual teaching standards languish, and parents are left wondering if their kids will ever learn to read without having to call in private tutors. So, yes, LUSD got new windows. Now, if only they’d open them to some fresh ideas for a change.
