Another day, another 'Art for Justice' fundraiser clogging up the local news cycle, this time spotlighted by the ever-vigilant Santa Barbara Independent. Apparently, Topa Topa Brewing Co. is pouring pints for 'justice' — which, in progressive parlance, invariably means sending donations to groups like 805UndocuFund and SB Resiste. One can only assume 'justice' here translates to 'more work for border patrol' and 'less secure borders for the rest of us.'

It's truly inspiring how these organizations manage to spin perpetual crisis into a lucrative fundraising apparatus. While the establishment media portrays these outfits as selfless champions of the downtrodden, one has to wonder if their true mission isn’t to alleviate suffering, but rather to ensure a steady stream of it – and the donations that flow alongside. After all, if the 'problem' was actually 'solved,' where would the fundraising go?

Perhaps Topa Topa, in its infinite wisdom, could host a fundraiser for, say, secure borders? Or maybe a 'Justice for Taxpayers' event, where the proceeds go to offset the burgeoning costs associated with an open border policy? But alas, that's not quite as 'virtuous' as funding groups that just keep asking for more while our infrastructure strains and our resources dwindle.

So, while local tipplers raise a glass to 'justice,' the rest of us are left to marvel at the financial alchemy that turns good intentions (or, perhaps, simply good PR) into a self-perpetuating cycle of 'need' and 'aid.' It’s almost as if some people profit handsomely from the very issues they claim to be addressing. Who knew a IPA could be so… politically active?
