The Whipping Post Take on Noozhawk
JUSTICE FOR WHOM? STABBY SUSPECT DEEMED TOO 'SPECIAL' FOR COURT
Another day, another perp sidesteps accountability in Santa Barbara's 'justice' system, proving again that compassion trumps consequences for our activist judges.

Well, bless their hearts. Noozhawk reports that the fellow accused of carving up a deputy back in March has been declared not mentally competent to stand trial. Apparently, when you allegedly stab a law enforcement officer, the first question isn't 'how do we hold him accountable?' but rather, 'is he perfectly balanced enough to understand our intricate legal ballet?' Because, you know, being lucid enough to commit a violent felony is apparently a different league than being lucid enough to sit through a trial.
This isn't about mental health, folks; it's about a revolving door dressed up in velvet. Our legal titans, bless their bleeding hearts, seem more concerned with ensuring every alleged criminal gets a gold-plated waiver than with protecting the very officers they send into harm's way. One of these days, the public might actually get tired of watching our progressive judiciary trip over itself to avoid holding anyone responsible for anything that happens in our increasingly 'compassionate' county.
Indeed, the legal precedent set by continually kicking these cans down the road ensures that the only ones truly safe are the alleged perpetrators, while law-abiding citizens and their protectors are left to wonder if anyone will ever truly face the music. Perhaps this is simply another feature, not a bug, in an administration that seems to prioritize the comfort of the accused over the safety of the community. What a time to be a law-abiding taxpayer in Santa Barbara County.
