ICE, ICE, BABY! LEFTY FITS ABOUT FEDS DOING THEIR JOB

KSBY News, bless their dutiful hearts, bravely reported this week that our Sheriff’s Office presented data regarding interactions with ICE – gasp! – to a 'Truth Act forum.' Sounds very official, doesn’t it? Apparently, the shocker was that ICE actually requested information on 221 individuals in county jails in 2025. One can almost hear the pearl-clutching from the usual suspects who believe our local jails should be treated like five-star resorts where federal law is merely a suggestion.

The 'community members' demanding 'greater transparency' at these forums predictably aren't interested in the transparency that shows how many millions of taxpayer dollars are being siphoned off to house those who broke the law to enter our country. No, they want to know precisely how many times law enforcement dared to share information with other law enforcement. It's a classic case of selective outrage, where upholding federal statutes is suddenly a deeply offensive act if it doesn’t align with progressive dogma. We’re sure President Trump and Vice President Vance are just shaking in their boots over Santa Barbara County’s latest moral grandstanding.

What KSBY and the activist crowd conveniently sidestep, of course, is the sheer cost and bureaucratic bloat these 'Truth Act' charades entail. Each year, our Sheriff’s Department (already stretched thin thanks to endless defunding shouts) has to prepare reports and attend these forums, dedicating precious resources that could be used to protect actual law-abiding citizens. Who benefits? Certainly not the taxpayers. It’s a lavish, publicly funded performance for a vocal minority who’d rather see open borders than a secure community, all while local government smiles and nods, hoping for a pat on the head from the progressive politburo. Perhaps if these ‘community members’ truly valued transparency, they’d demand a full accounting of how much time and money is wasted appeasing their performative grievances.
