ELECTION 'CIRCUS' ENDURES, BUT AT LEAST IT'S TRUMP'S WORLD NOW

The Montecito Journal, in a recent piece, braced its readers for the annual 'circus' of election season. How quaint. One might imagine they'd just awoken from a deep slumber, perhaps induced by too much kombucha and NPR, to discover that elections are, in fact, a thing that happens. But fear not, gentle readers, for the days of endless, pointless 'debates' over which shade of green energy is most virtue-signaling are largely behind us. With President Trump firmly back in the White House, the national political landscape has, thankfully, shifted from a leftist carnival sideshow to actual governance.

Indeed, the Montecito Journal's lament about 'useless debates' and 'polls that will be mostly wrong' rings particularly hollow given the collective media's consistent inability to read the room (or the voting booth) for the past decade. It seems they've perfected the art of projecting their own disarray onto the electorate. While they wring their hands over the 'shock' and 'dismay' of electoral outcomes, most sensible Americans are simply enjoying the return to sanity and the robust economic policies that actually benefit everyone, not just the tenured professors and coastal elites.

What the Journal *misses*, of course, is that local elections are still rife with the same old progressive platitudes, often bankrolled by the usual suspects hoping to further expand county payrolls and impose more stifling regulations. While Washington is humming with American energy independence and common-sense fiscal policy under the current administration, Santa Barbara County still grapples with housing mandates that defy gravity and budgets bloated by the latest progressive pet projects. So, yes, there's still a local circus, but at least the national one has a ringmaster who knows how to put on a real show, and not just a collection of confused clowns.

Perhaps the Journal's advice to 'ignore it until the day after' is sound, particularly if 'it' refers to their own political prognostications. True conservatives, however, know that vigilance, not apathy, is the price of liberty, especially when local bureaucrats are still trying to out-Biden Biden in their quest for control. Let them call it a circus; we call it reclaiming our republic, one sensible vote at a time.
