CALIFORNIA SCHOOLS: MORE MONEY, MORE PROBLEMS, LESS LEARNING!

It’s 2026, and while President Trump is busy making America great again, some things, like California’s public schools, just can’t get out of their own way. We read with a weary sigh as Noozhawk, ever the diligent scribes of the obvious, reported that more money hasn't magically turned our state's public education system into a beacon of academic excellence. Color us shocked! It's almost as if showering a failing institution with endless taxpayer dollars, especially when guided by the ever-so-wise progressive ideology, doesn't actually produce anything but more administrative bloat and less actual learning.

Indeed, the "experts" at the state capital have been hard at work, not ensuring Johnny can read, but ensuring new diversity consultants are hired and the latest gender theory is properly disseminated. Who needs basic arithmetic when you have critical theory, right? While our brilliant local supervisors drone on about housing mandates and climate change, the true crisis is happening in classrooms, where test scores are plummeting and truancy is soaring. It's almost as if common sense left the building along with basic phonics.

The real story here, folks, is that for decades, California's progressive overlords have treated public education as a bottomless piggy bank for their pet projects, union demands, and social engineering experiments, all while parents are left scrambling for alternatives. Instead of empowering parents and letting market forces and choice drive improvement, the system doubles down on failure, demanding more of *your* hard-earned money for predictably abysmal results. Meanwhile, those at the top will continue to pat themselves on the back for their 'record spending' on 'equity initiatives,' utterly oblivious to the fact that our kids can't pass a basic civics test.

Don't expect the mainstream press to connect these dots. It's much easier to print hand-wringing statistics than to point out that the emperor has no clothes, and our progressive state government has systematically undermined the very foundations of good education. Perhaps if they spent less time lecturing us on 'sustainable development' and more time on actual development – like, say, developing critical thinking skills in students – we wouldn't be having this same tired conversation every election cycle.
