BONTA SPIKES BALL ON 'BIRTHRIGHT' RULING, FORGETS HE'S NOT PLAYING DODGERS

California's top lawyer crows over Supreme Court decision, conveniently overlooking the border free-for-all that makes such 'victories' necessary in the first place.

Attorney General Rob Bonta, a man rarely accused of subtlety, unleashed a press release of epic proportions this week, practically showering himself in confetti over a Supreme Court 'victory' affirming birthright citizenship. The Santa Barbara Independent, ever eager to fan the flames of bureaucratic self-congratulation, duly reported Bonta's celebratory air-punch. One might think a seasoned legal mind would grasp the distinction between 'affirming' a constitutional principle and 'celebrating' its continued weaponization by those who champion open borders.

Indeed, while Bonta cheers this 'constitutional right' (which he insists is rooted in the 14th Amendment, but we all know the original intent of that one, don’t we?), he seems blissfully unaware that the very issue of 'birthright citizenship' has become a contentious hot potato precisely because of the ongoing, unchecked invasion at our southern border. It’s a bit like a chef celebrating the structural integrity of his oven while the kitchen is engulfed in flames. Perhaps the AG could spare a moment from his victory lap to acknowledge the actual crisis that makes this a talking point, rather than just an academic exercise.

Now, here's the angle the Independent didn't print while dutifully reprinting Bonta's press release: this isn't just about 'the Constitution'; it's about power. Every child born to an illegal alien on U.S. soil is another potential future taxpayer, another vote, another mouth to feed for California's ever-expanding government coffers. Bonta's 'celebration' isn't about legal precedent; it's about maintaining and expanding the progressive client state, fueled by an endless supply of dependents. The real 'victory' is for those who profit from a system designed to encourage, rather than deter, illegal immigration.

So, while Bonta and his allies pat themselves on the back, ordinary Californians are left to wonder when our AG will actually start defending the state's existing citizens, rather than constantly finding new ways to expand the welfare rolls and dilute the voting power of those who actually followed the rules. But hey, at least he got a press release out of it – and the state media got a headline. Everyone wins, except, perhaps, for the taxpayers footing the bill.
