One has to assume that whoever takes the reins will be tasked with finding the missing millions, not just from the county budget, but arguably from the missing common sense in local governance.

The real story isn't who's up by a percentage point, but the sheer lack of transparency and efficiency that allows such a critical race to drag on without clear resolution. It's almost as if the county board prefers a little managed chaos, leaving taxpayers in the dark while the progressive machine grinds on.
