UNION BIGWIGS DEMAND VOTERS IMPOSE 'EQUITY' ON HOSPITALS, BUT NOT ON THEIR OWN PENSION FUNDS

Leftist union bosses, fresh off dreaming up new taxes on the productive, now want to micromanage how community clinics spend taxpayer cash, apparently to ensure everyone's equally miserable.

Well, bless their hearts. Just when you thought the progressive mind couldn't conjure up another layer of bureaucratic busybodyism, the Service Employees International Union-United Healthcare Workers West (SEIU-UHW) has delivered a new gem. According to the always-earnest Noozhawk, these champions of 'the people'—read: union dues—are pushing Proposition 44, a ballot measure designed to dictate how community health clinics spend their money. Because, naturally, the folks running actual healthcare facilities simply can't be trusted with their own budgets. It takes the sagely wisdom of union apparatchiks to ensure 'equitable' distribution of funds, which almost certainly means more consultants and less actual care.

This is the same esteemed union, mind you, that was gleefully pitching a new 'billionaire's tax' on anyone with the audacity to create jobs and wealth. The pattern is clear: seize control of private assets, then dictate the terms of public services. It's a progressive playbook as old as Marx's beard, only now it's cloaked in the noble language of 'healthcare access' and 'community well-being.' What they really mean is centralizing power and diverting resources to whatever pet projects or political allies the union bosses deem worthy.

One has to wonder if these union luminaries apply the same stringent financial oversight to their own voluminous war chests or lavish pension schemes. Doubtful. It’s always about controlling *other people's* money and *other people's* institutions. Meanwhile, the actual patients seeking affordable care are just pawns in this grand game of political power-grabbing. Next, they'll be telling us what brand of bandages to use, all in the name of 'equity,' of course.

Perhaps if the SEIU-UHW spent less time crafting convoluted ballot measures to hobble healthcare providers and more time actually providing quality service to its members without constantly demanding more, we wouldn't need a proposition to 'fix' what wasn't broken by market forces in the first place. But then, where's the fun—and the power—in that?
