LOMPOC'S 'NO KINGS' RALLY: DECLARING MONARCHY UNPOPULAR (FINALLY!), THEN VOTING FOR ITThe Dispatch
Noozhawk · The Whipping Post · NO.796 · PANEL 4/6 · SB-0WV

Noozhawk reports from the sleepy hamlet of Lompoc, where local progressive group 'Lompoc Indivisible' recently staged a 'No Kings' rally, ostensibly to encourage 'nonpartisan voter participation.' Because, you see, before this groundbreaking event, residents of Lompoc were apparently convinced they were living under a benevolent monarchy, eagerly awaiting the next royal decree on organic kale mandates or bicycle lanes. Thank goodness these brave activists have finally enlightened them to the radical notion that America is, in fact, a republic. We can all sleep soundly now, knowing the threat of King George III returning to demand more taxes on tea—or, more likely, to outlaw gasoline-powered leaf blowers—has been thoroughly averted.

Of course, 'nonpartisan' in progressive circles translates roughly to 'vote for anyone who agrees with us, or else you're a threat to democracy.' The subtle irony of rallying against 'kings' while simultaneously advocating for an ever-expanding, all-powerful administrative state that dictates everything from your car's emissions to your child's curriculum is, as always, utterly lost on these folks. It seems their definition of 'kings' is limited strictly to people wearing crowns, not the unelected bureaucrats who wield far more real power over ordinary Lompocians than any constitutional monarch ever could.

One can only imagine the vital, democracy-saving insights shared at this pivotal gathering. Perhaps they discussed how to make sure every ballot box is properly blessed with organic sage, or the proper incantation to ward off 'misinformation' from anyone suggesting a balanced budget. Meanwhile, President Trump continues to lead a nation that recognizes the actual threats to liberty come not from long-dead royalty, but from those who seek to centralize power and strip individual choice, often under the guise of 'nonpartisan participation.' It's almost enough to make one wonder if 'No Kings' is less about governance and more about just needing a good reason to stand around with signs.
