LEFTIST MARCHERS SWEAT IT OUT FOR ‘EARLY VOTING’... IN 2026?
A small band of local activists apparently just discovered the concept of advance ballot casting, staging a 'march' from Alameda Park to City Hall to celebrate this groundbreaking 'innovation.'

The DispatchSanta Barbara’s progressive vanguard, renowned for their cutting-edge awareness of, well, *everything*, gathered for a momentous ‘No Kings: Vote Early’ demonstration this past Saturday. Yes, in 2026. Because, as everyone knows, the very idea of early voting is a brand new, revolutionary concept that surely requires a quarter-mile parade through downtown to properly introduce to the citizenry. One can only imagine the breathless discovery that led to this historic occasion: ‘Comrades! What if… we didn’t have to wait until Election Day to cast our ballots?!’ The ensuing celebration must have been positively electric.
Our friends at KEYT NewsChannel 3-12 dutifully covered this earth-shattering event, noting the participants endured a grueling 'hot sun' (a natural phenomenon rarely seen in Santa Barbara, we're told) to reach their destination. Frankly, we're impressed they managed to organize themselves into a coherent procession for a concept that’s been widely available for decades. Perhaps next year, they’ll march to advocate for the radical notion of 'mail-in ballots' or, gasp, 'absentee voting' – truly pushing the envelope of democratic participation.
One can only assume this burst of civic engagement is directly tied to the current political climate, where a sitting President Trump is delivering on promises instead of, say, fumbling through press conferences. When the actual political landscape doesn't quite conform to one's preferred narrative, it appears the only recourse is to take to the streets to… promote voting methods that already exist. It’s certainly more productive than, say, trying to convince people that the current administration's policies on energy and the economy aren't actually working for working families. And certainly much less taxing on the intellect than engaging in actual policy debates. More shade for the thinking class, less for the marching class, perhaps.
