HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA: RACE HOAXES KEEP RADICALS ROLLING

It seems the Santa Barbara Unified School District, in its tireless quest to prove how utterly vital its ever-expanding diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) bureaucracies are, has found another 'incident' to keep the grift alive. The Santa Barbara Independent breathlessly reported on a blackface kerfuffle at San Marcos High, implying, of course, that the walls are practically dripping with systemic racism, rather than, say, the inevitable byproduct of a system that actively encourages grievance-mongering over academic achievement.

One must truly marvel at the impeccable timing of these 'incidents.' Just as public patience wears thin with the endless parade of sensitivity trainings and 'unconscious bias' workshops, *poof!* – another racial dust-up appears, demanding more funding, more consultants, and more virtue-signaling from our ever-so-progressive school board. It’s almost as if some folks have a vested interest in keeping the racial pot boiling, ensuring their well-paid positions remain indispensable, even as student test scores continue their leisurely stroll into the abyss.

While real education falters and parental concerns about curriculum are routinely dismissed, our local institutions seem laser-focused on finding the next micro-aggression. Perhaps if these administrators spent less time policing adolescent costume choices and more time instilling actual civic values, critical thinking, and the importance of individual responsibility, we wouldn't have to endure these cyclical sagas of performative outrage. But then, how would anyone justify the burgeoning budgets for 'equity coordinators'? It’s a racket, folks, plain and simple, and the Independent, bless its heart, falls for it every time.
