One might almost believe this is how elections are supposed to work, rather than the usual bureaucratic shuffle of hand-picked 'community leaders' whose main qualification is their ability to parrot the latest pronouncements from the County Administration Building.

The real story, of course, is that in Santa Barbara County, merely listing one's qualifications for an office increasingly feels like a radical act. While others vie for positions based on their 'lived experience' or their commitment to endless, taxpayer-funded 'diversity, equity, and inclusion' task forces, Greene's campaign seems hinged on the quaint notion of actually knowing how to do the job. We suspect this is a bold, almost reckless, departure from the modern progressive playbook. Imagine, a county official who actually understands property valuation or records management! The horror!

This isn't about endorsements, it's about the sheer audacity.
