GREEN GROUP KILLS APPEAL, PACKAGE WAREHOUSE SET TO RISE: 'JUSTICE' SERVED?
After much hand-wringing and virtue signaling, an 'environmental justice' group suddenly decided actual deliveries might be a good thing, dropping its appeal against a Santa Maria warehouse.

The CourtsWell, folks, it seems even the most ardent eco-warriors can be swayed, or perhaps just got tired of losing. Noozhawk reports that Golden State Environmental Justice (GSEJ) has, with an almost audible sigh of relief from anyone trying to get something delivered on time, finally withdrawn its appeal against a new package delivery warehouse in Santa Maria. Apparently, after dragging their Birkenstock-clad heels through the planning process, the group decided that maybe, just maybe, economic activity and consumer convenience aren't the worst things on Earth.
This warehouse, which provides good local jobs and efficient service, faced the usual gauntlet of nit-picking and process-paralysis from a group whose very name signals their primary policy: 'justice' for the environment, which often means injustice for everyone else trying to, you know, live and work. One can only imagine the backroom wrangling or perhaps the sudden realization that appealing every single development means less time to complain about, well, everything else. We're told the warehouse could break ground this year, which is a testament to the sheer resilience required to build anything in California these days.
This episode perfectly illustrates the absurd hoops businesses jump through, simply to provide essential services. The real 'environmental justice' would be for taxpayers and job-creators to have a clear, predictable path to development, free from endless appeals by groups seemingly dedicated to ensuring nothing ever gets built anywhere. Perhaps GSEJ realized that even their progressive allies occasionally enjoy getting their locally sourced, ethically packaged kombucha delivered right to their door. Or maybe, just maybe, they ran out of grant money for this particular fight.
