The Whipping Post Take on Noozhawk
GOLETA'S NEWEST CAREER PATH: PROFESSIONAL OUTRAGE-SEEKER, FUNDED BY YOU!
Noozhawk reports on teen 'walk-outs' which, if they're anything like our tax dollars, likely didn't walk very far before demanding more funding.

The DispatchNoozhawk, bless its little cotton socks, breathlessly reported this week on high school students from Goleta Valley who 'walked out' of class. Apparently, a social media post — likely one that wouldn't even register as a blip on an actual adult's radar — sent these budding activists into a paroxysm of righteous indignation, demanding 'accountability' from the Santa Barbara Unified School District. One can only imagine the sheer effort involved in leaving a classroom to stand outside, possibly with signs, before returning inside when the bell rings for lunch.
Now, before anyone accuses us of being insensitive, The Whipping Post firmly believes in the grand American tradition of skipping class. We just prefer our truancy to involve actual fun, not a solemn, politically performative demand for administrators to, what, read a sternly worded memo? What's truly shocking isn't the 'outrage' — which these days is about as rare as a progressive demanding fiscal responsibility — but that anyone, especially school administrators, actually took these theatrical displays seriously. Perhaps the real 'racist' post was the one suggesting taxpayers should foot the bill for full-time 'diversity, equity, and inclusion' bureaucrats whose primary job seems to be identifying new reasons for students to feel perpetually aggrieved.
This whole spectacle conveniently deflects from the district's actual performance, like, say, teaching kids to read, write, or balance a checkbook. But why focus on mundane academic achievement when you can be a hero for demanding more administrative oversight and new sensitivity training modules that will inevitably cost a fortune and achieve nothing? It’s almost as if some adults in the district secretly encourage these 'walk-outs' to justify their ever-expanding budgets and job titles. We recommend these industrious youngsters immediately apply for grant funding for their 'grassroots advocacy.' The future of grievance studies is clearly bright, and well-funded, in Goleta.
