One can only assume this lofty award comes with a gold-plated stapler and a voucher for an extra-long lunch break, perhaps to discuss the latest 'inclusive language' guidelines or the urgent need for more 'equity' in spreadsheet management. It's a truly heartwarming display from the local government that brought you soaring property taxes and an unshakeable commitment to red tape.

While the rest of us are busy navigating the actual behavioral challenges presented by rampant homelessness, drug addiction, and the lingering effects of lockdowns, our esteemed Supervisors are busy patting themselves on the back for creating more government jobs to 'manage' these issues. The "Behavioral Health Services Act" itself is a classic example of Sacramento’s bottomless pit of good intentions paved with taxpayer dollars, always requiring more administrators, more forms, and, naturally, more 'teams' to interpret its ever-shifting mandates.

What story is everyone missing?
