State and local leaders, always eager for a photo op that makes them look compassionate (and ensures future campaign donations from the 'advocacy' industry), gathered in Carpinteria to pat themselves on the back. While every Californian struggles with the cost of living and the outright collapse of basic services, our elected betters are focused on ensuring that "unaccompanied immigrant children" get free legal representation. One wonders how many actual Californian children could benefit from $15 million being thrown at, oh, say, academic tutoring, improved school lunch programs, or even just a decent park. But no, 'holistic immigration representation' for non-citizens is the clear winner!
