CARPINTERIA SCHOOL BOARD: MORE CONCERNS, FEWER SOLUTIONS!

Carpinteria Unified School District's Board of Trustees, bless their hearts, recently gathered for their monthly ritual of 'concerns and no consequences,' according to the ever-so-earnest Coastal View News. Apparently, the sky is falling in two crucial areas: academic performance and, because children exist, student safety. It's almost as if years of prioritizing gender-identity workshops over geometry and virtue signaling over phonics might, just *might*, lead to some academic... *slumps*. Who knew?

The intrepid trustees listened intently, we're sure, as parents once again pointed out that their darlings aren't learning much and are also, sometimes, not entirely safe. Rather than, say, demanding a return to basics or questioning the ever-expanding bloat of administrative feel-good initiatives, the board likely nodded sagely and penciled in another committee meeting to 'study the issue.' After all, why solve a problem when you can pay a consultant six figures to tell you the problem is still there?

One has to wonder if these endless 'concerns' are simply the natural outcome of a system more focused on social engineering than actual education. Perhaps if less time was spent on equity audits and more on English and math, the 'academic performance concerns' might magically dwindle. And as for safety? When school becomes a laboratory for every progressive social experiment under the sun, it’s hardly surprising that basic order might take a back seat. But don't worry, Carpinteria, the board is *concerned*. That's the important part, right?

The real story Coastal View News missed is the cost-benefit analysis. How much taxpayer money is poured into a system that consistently delivers 'concerns' instead of competence? It's a miracle anyone is learning anything when the administration seems more preoccupied with the latest pedagogical fads than with ensuring students can read a history book or solve a quadratic equation. Keep those concerns coming, CUSD; our property taxes depend on it.
