805UNDOCUFUND: THE UNINVITED NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

Montecito's self-appointed immigration busybodies are back, urging residents to report... uh... 'activity' to a group that sounds less like a charity and more like a neighborhood snitch line for an op

Your humble Montecito Journal recently highlighted a local group, 805UndocuFund, which, according to their reporting, fancies itself a sort of community watch for 'immigration enforcement activities.' We read this and wondered if maybe they're just lonely, because why else would you organize a whole movement around helping people actively avoid the authorities while simultaneously asking everyone to 'report what they see?' It seems these benevolent busybodies are less about charitable acts and more about turning Montecito into a bustling hub for identifying and then artfully dodging anyone with a badge and a warrant.

Indeed, the concept espoused by the 805UndocuFund, as dutifully transcribed by the Journal, is straight out of the Progressive Playbook: encourage open borders, then complain about the consequences, and finally, invent a 'fund' to help those consequences sidestep the law. It's a breathtaking display of circular logic. Perhaps, instead of a phone number for 'activity spotted,' they could offer a hotline for common sense, because it appears that's what's truly in short supply on the Left Coast.

One has to marvel at the chutzpah. They paint themselves as saviors while actively undermining the very concept of a secure community. While the rest of us are still trying to figure out if that new Tesla across the street belongs to a developer or a tech bro, 805UndocuFund wants us all to play immigration detective, for entirely the wrong reasons. It’s certainly a unique spin on ‘community engagement’ — turning your posh environs into a game of hide-and-seek with federal agents. For taxpayers, perhaps a better 'fund' would be one that actually supports our overwhelmed border patrol and helps enforce the laws elected officials swore to uphold, not subvert them.

This isn't about compassion; it's about control and a fundamental disrespect for the rule of law. While our friends at the Montecito Journal might see this as a heartwarming tale of local activism, The Whipping Post sees it for what it truly is: another progressive attempt to redefine societal norms, one loophole at a time, all while expecting ordinary citizens to foot the bill and turn a blind eye.
